Bonsai Workshop – Is there a budding Bonsai artist in the family?
Be inspired by the National Bonsai and Penjing Collection of Australia and pot up, wire, style and take home your own personal bonsai!
Dates: 7 October 2020 or 8 October 2020
Time: There are two sessions available each day: 10:00am or 1:30pm.
Duration: 90 minutes
Ages: 8 – 16 years
Price: $40 per child
Nature Play Day – Give your kids the gift of a digital detox by spending the day in nature.
Slowing down and spending time outdoors has proven positive benefits for development and well being. Children have opportunities to create their own games, use their spacial and negotiation skills and can engage in activities that capture their imagination.
Dates: Wednesday 30 September or Thursday 1 October 2020
Time: 9am – 4pm
Ages: 6-10 years
Price: $80 per child
Family Orienteering – Pick up your map and clue sheet from the Village Centre and head out into the forests and gardens on a letter search to discover which rare bird is nesting at the National arboretum.
Dates: 26 September – 11 October 2020
Time: Between the hours of 9am-4pm
Ages: Suitable for all ages
Dates: 28, 29 September or 2, 6 October 2020
Time: 2.30pm – 3.30pm
Ages: 4 – 7 years
Price: $10 per child, adults free
Come and create your own native animal artwork at the National Arboretum Canberra! Using natural resources collected on site, you will craft a piece of art while learning about the significance of plants and animals to Indigenous Australians.
You will also have the opportunity to learn about Indigenous symbols and paint this onto a eucalyptus leaf to be added to a hanging mobile!
We will be taking a short walk into a nearby forests so please ensure children have covered shoes, have a sun hat and are dressed for the weather. Please bring a drink bottle for you child.
Please note: Parents are required to stay with children for this workshop.
